The F-16CJ Fighting Falcon is a purpose-built variant for Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses (SEAD), derived from the F-16C Block 50 family. This type has extensive operational history with the United States Air Force, including deployments over Iraq. The model reflects the aircrafts capability for precision night and all-weather strikes, supported by modern digital avionics and radar systems.
This Tamiya 1/48 kit faithfully represents the F-16CJs blended aerodynamic shape. The clear bubble canopy can be modelled open or closed, and the horizontal stabilisers and flaperons are movable. Included are a selection of armaments such as HARM, AMRAAM and Sidewinder missiles, plus external fuel tanks and pods used for ECM and HTS roles.
The kit provides a satisfying build with finely moulded components and several customisation choices, including the option of standard or JHMCS flight helmets for the pilot figure. Markings are supplied for three different airframes so modellers can personalise the finished display piece.
