This 1/12 scale plastic assembly kit represents the Yamaha YZR-M1 campaigned by the Monster Yamaha Tech3 team in 2009, rendered as a display-scale replica that faithfully shows frame and engine layout.
In 2009 the team adopted a new title sponsor, prompting the YZR-M1 to wear a mainly black livery with white and fluorescent yellow accents. Bridgestone served as the sole tire supplier that season, which led to chassis and setup adjustments for the YZR-M1. Rider Colin Edwards adapted to the revised tires and recorded steady points finishes, including a podium second place at the British Grand Prix following a late-race pass.
The kit emphasizes visible mechanical accuracy for display models. The twin-tube delta box frame and the 800cc inline-4 engine are modelled as exposed external assemblies. Included are synthetic rubber front and rear tires and vinyl tubing to simulate throttle, clutch, and brake lines. The side fairings and the fuel tank cover are designed to be removable after assembly to allow display access. Parts are supplied to show the suspension in a compressed state, and Cartograph decals are provided to reproduce the 2009 livery.
Aimed at experienced modelers, this kit focuses on external mechanical detail and livery fidelity to produce a display-quality motorcycle model.
