This 1/12 scale plastic assembly model recreates the 1974 McLaren M23 and is supplied for display-oriented builds that prioritise fine detail and authenticity.
The McLaren M23 debuted in 1973 as a successor to the M19 and saw development through the mid 1970s. It achieved strong results during the 1974 season and continued to be campaigned with updates in subsequent years, reflecting a mix of aerodynamic and mechanical progress for its era.
The kit reproduces the M23 bodywork with a removable front cowling, cockpit fairing and induction box to allow staged presentation and access to internal assemblies. A steering linkage connects the wheel to the front wheels so the steering can be shown working when built.
The Ford-Cosworth DFV V8 engine is modelled with fuel pipe and ignition lead details. Both front and rear suspension assemblies include movable components and coil springs to reflect the car's suspension geometry.
Photo-etched parts enhance brake discs and cockpit buckles, while seatbelt areas use cloth-effect decals and metal buckles. Decals are supplied for two race numbers and the kit includes synthetic rubber slick tires for an era-correct look. Assembly requires painting and standard modelling tools.
A faithful 1/12 representation of the 1974 McLaren M23 offering engine, cockpit and suspension detail for modellers focused on scale accuracy and finish quality.
