DX1T 13.5T Torque Drift Unit

The Yokomo RPM-DX135TA is the DX1T-series 13.5T brushless motor voiced for drift cars running on low-grip surfaces. Development emphasized predictable traction and a linear throttle feel so drivers can tune traction-in behavior on surfaces like tile and coloured concrete commonly found on short indoor and outdoor drift layouts. The DX1T spec is biased toward torque and controllability rather than peak rpm, and its stator and coil use materials selected specifically for that purpose, differing from the Type R variant.

The motor housing has a revised external case to improve cooling efficiency and reduce heat sag that can upset steering consistency during long drift runs. Better thermal control supports a steadier response across repeated laps and makes tuning with gearing, ESC timing, and throttle curves more repeatable.

Installation follows standard 1/10-scale touring and drift motor mount practices for rotors of the listed dimensions; confirm pinion mesh and motor height on your chassis before final mounting. For setup, treat the DX1T as a torque-first option: begin with conservative gearing and a smooth throttle curve to use its linear output, then open up gearing only if grip on your layout permits.

The DX1T 13.5T is voiced for low-grip surfaces such as tile and coloured concrete, and for short circuits where torque and smooth throttle control are more important than high rpm.
DX1T uses different stator and coil materials to favour torque and a linear response, while Type R targets higher rpm and characteristics tuned for grippier setups.
The motor's updated case improves cooling; ensure good airflow to the can and proper motor bracket torque. Adequate ventilation and lighter ESC timing settings will help reduce thermal buildup.
