Track-Focused Control with the Yokomo MSR-FWD

The Yokomo MSR-FWD is a purpose-built 1/10 FWD touring car that reflects careful engineering and race-focused tuning. Based on the MS1.0 chassis platform, it has been refined to improve weight balance and alignment for consistent control and nimble responses on the tarmac.

Race Results and Chassis Features

The MSR-FWD earned recognition in EFRA Euro competition when Frederick Hofgaard drove it to victory, highlighting the model's race capability in the FWD division. It uses the same A-arm suspension geometry as the MS1.0, delivering strong traction and stability through tight turns where grip and predictability matter most.

Chassis Layout and Balance Advantages

Engineers focused on weight distribution to help the MSR-FWD keep traction during aggressive driving and to reduce mid-corner stall. The platform pairs a graphite double deck chassis for stiffness with a front mid motor layout to stabilise the car during high speed sections without adding unnecessary mass.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
Increase front roll stiffness slightly and use a firmer shock oil up front to help the MSR-FWD maintain contact on low-grip carpet. Small changes to front camber and toe can also improve turn-in response.
Choose a compact sensored motor and a low-profile ESC to sit cleanly with the front mid motor layout. A reliable digital servo with metal gears helps maintain precise steering under load.
Inspect aluminium bulkheads and motor/servo mounts after a few race weekends or after heavy impacts. Tighten screws and check for cracks to avoid setup shifts on track.
Minor weight tweaks at the bumper and adjustable turnbuckles for precise toe and camber control are popular upgrades. Upgrading to tuned shocks can also yield measurable improvements.
