Secure tire seating for glue-up

This Yokomo YT-WG2 rubber band is a support accessory for RC tires used during bonding and finishing. It holds the tire to the wheel so the bead and rim sit tightly together, reducing gaps while glue cures and making edge trimming more accurate.

Use it during glue-up to maintain even pressure around the tire bead, especially when fitting soft compound tires or when remounting a tire after repair. The elastic band keeps the tyre seated while you check for consistent contact and perform final trimming and cleaning.

Practical tips: stretch the band evenly, avoid twisting it, and inspect the bead for even seating before the glue sets. Keep spare bands and store them away from heat and direct sunlight to protect elasticity.

When should I replace a band?

Inspect bands for stretching, surface cracks or loss of tension; replace any that no longer keep even pressure. Usable bands can be reused several times if elasticity remains.

Are these suitable with foam inserts?

They are made for standard rubber tyres; foam inserts can change how the band seats the tyre, so test fit first to ensure the band does not compress the insert unevenly.
