Soft rear pitching damper spring

This setting spring is designed for the rear pitching damper used on Yokomo R12 scale shocks, supplied in a softer rate than Yokomo's standard spring. It is offered as a replacement spring to alter rear pitching response without the need to swap shock bodies or pistons.

Installation is simple: remove the shock cap and spring retainer, slide off the original spring, and fit the R12-18RSS onto the shock shaft with the correct preload and retainer. No special proprietary tools are required beyond common shock service tools and a hex driver for the shock end screws.

From a tuning viewpoint the softer spring reduces rear pitch stiffness, which can aid traction and weight transfer on low-grip surfaces or when a smoother rear response is wanted; combine rate changes with damping and anti-roll adjustments to keep the chassis balanced.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
The softer spring lowers rear pitch stiffness, producing gentler rear weight transfer and improved compliance. That typically helps traction on low-grip tracks but may require damping and anti-roll tuning to prevent excess body roll.
Check spring preload, full shock travel, and that the retainer is seated correctly. After fitting, re-check ride height and damping settings to maintain overall balance.
