This piston pin is an RC-scale replacement part intended for use in O.S. Engine 35AX-class engines and equivalent 35AX-design assemblies. It acts as the rotating joint between piston and connecting rod, and is supplied as a single pcs spare for routine maintenance and repair of nitro model engines.
Installation is straightforward for hobby workshop bench work: remove the piston assembly, inspect the pin bore and piston for scoring, slide the pin into the piston and align with the connecting rod, then secure any circlips or retainers fitted to the engine. Lightly coat contact surfaces with assembly oil before final fit to minimise initial wear, and verify axial clearance after installation.
As a scheduled service item the piston pin influences seal integrity and rotational smoothness. Replace the pin if you observe scoring, ovality, or excessive endplay, and inspect the piston ring and connecting rod bearing at the same time to ensure consistent engine behaviour.
