Best Uses and Notes

This flat clear works well on styrene kits, resin figures and painted scale models. It is not formulated for polycarbonate RC car bodies, which need purpose-made polycarbonate paints. Treat this can as a general-purpose lacquer topcoat for display models.

Practical Spraying Tips

Ensure parts are clean and fully dry before spraying. Shake the can for at least one minute and spray in thin, overlapping passes to avoid runs. Leave sufficient drying time between coats and work in a well ventilated area.

Can I use this on polycarbonate RC bodies?

No. This lacquer flat clear is intended for styrene, resin and painted kits. Polycarbonate RC bodies normally require specific polycarbonate paints to flex with the shell.

Will Mr.Hobby S30 affect decals?

Applied over properly set decals, a thin flat clear will seal them in place. Test on a scrap first and allow decals to fully cure before clear coating to avoid silvering.

How should I store and handle the can between uses?
