Material Compatibility

Designed primarily for plastic model kits and painted figures, this product provides reliable adhesion and finish on common modelling surfaces. It is not recommended for direct use on polycarbonate RC bodies without a suitable polycarbonate-specific product or surface treatment.

Can Mr.Hobby S151 be used on polycarbonate bodies?

This lacquer is not formulated for raw polycarbonate. For clear lexan RC bodies use paints designed specifically for polycarbonate or apply an appropriate sealer first.

Is priming necessary before spraying?

Priming is recommended for best adhesion and a smoother topcoat, especially on bare plastic or uneven surfaces. A light, compatible primer improves coverage and reduces the number of topcoats needed.

How many thin coats should I apply for full pearl effect?
