This 1/27-scale chassis set is designed for the Mini-Z MR-04EVO2 platform and targets drivers wanting a performance-oriented EVO2 upgrade within Kyosho's Mini-Z range.
The MR-04EVO2 marks a significant revision of the MR series introduced late in 2023, representing the first major model update in 14 years while retaining core MR-03 layout concepts. Key changes include a sensored brushless motor, revised front suspension geometry, lower battery placement to reduce center of gravity, and enhanced high-speed radio communication support. These updates are intended to improve handling accuracy and stability for circuit-style Mini-Z competition.
As a chassis set, the focus is on mechanical and electronic improvements rather than bodywork. Notable hardware updates include the higher-rigidity Front Suspension Arm 2.0, kingpin-integrated front knuckles for better camber control, and seven 3 mm inner-diameter ball bearings to lower rotational drag. The battery mount sits lower than previous MR-03 layouts to aid cornering stability. A ball differential is included to balance slip and traction during turns. Gyro and certain radio components are excluded so builders can choose gear that meets class rules or personal setup preferences. Speed control and motor RPM can be tuned via the I.C.S. Setting Manager to comply with Mini-Z Cup regulations effective 2025.
This chassis set gives a clear upgrade route inside the Mini-Z family, emphasising suspension geometry, reduced bearing drag, and a lower battery position to sharpen circuit performance and tuning options.
