Lightweight aluminium pinion for Mini-Z AWD

This RC-scale aluminium motor pinion is made for Mini-Z AWD chassis as a direct replacement or hop-up for softer metal pinions. It focuses on low rotational inertia and a durable mating surface so small-scale drivetrains keep consistent gear mesh for repeatable lap times.

Fitment and role: the pinion mounts to the motor shaft and pairs with the car's existing spur gear and gearbox layout. Being aluminium it alters mass and stiffness versus brass or steel pinions, which can change acceleration feel and wear characteristics. Choose it when you want a lighter option to tune acceleration and thermal behaviour at racing speeds.

Installation tips: clean the motor shaft and set screw area before fitting, check axial and radial play after installation, and confirm mesh with a few slow rotations before running at full power. If your Mini-Z uses spacers or specific shims, follow the chassis alignment method to avoid overloading teeth. Replace worn set screws and remove any burrs on the spur gear.
