Compact 13mm POM rollers with ball bearings

These 13mm plastic rollers from Tamiya are offered as a compact roller option for experienced Mini 4WD builders who run multi-lane circuits. The design uses a larger plastic outer area made from low-friction POM (blue) around a ball-bearing core, and aluminum inserts secure the bearings to the roller assembly. That combination aims to keep mass down while preserving free-spinning behaviour under load.

Compared with earlier plastic-ring 13mm rollers, this set increases the plastic section size while retaining metal inserts for bearing retention. The manufacturer notes weight reductions versus some aluminum ringless items, making these rollers a lighter alternative where chassis balance and reduced unsprung mass matter. The set includes two rollers and the screws needed for attachment, and it is compatible with Mini 4WD PRO and standard Mini 4WD cars.

Use these rollers in course layouts where 13mm rollers are common, such as 3-lane or 5-lane tracks. The POM surface provides low friction in contact with lane banks, while the ball bearings reduce internal resistance compared with plain plastic bushings. The aluminum bearing holders are intended to keep the bearings seated during impacts or sustained running.

Roller diameter: 13mm

Bearings: Ball bearings included

Compatibility: Mini 4WD PRO and Mini 4WD cars

Included: Attachment screws

These rollers present a lightweight, bearing-equipped option for builders who prefer plastic-bodied 13mm rollers on multi-lane layouts; suitability depends on each car setup and track profile.

Fit depends on your stay spacing and the thickness of the mounting screws. They are listed as compatible with Mini 4WD PRO and standard Mini 4WD cars, but check your stay hole alignment before installing.
POM delivers a low-friction contact surface and reduces mass at the roller perimeter. When combined with ball bearings, this setup tends to spin more freely than plain plastic bushes and can lower rotational inertia compared with some metal designs.
The package includes ball bearings along with aluminum inserts to retain them. Screws for securing the rollers are included in the set.
You receive two 13mm rollers plus the attachment screws required to mount them to standard roller stays.
The aluminum inserts act to hold bearings in place and help resist dislodgement under impacts, offering more secure retention than a simple plastic bushing.
According to the product notes, these rollers are about 15% lighter than item 95301 and roughly 35% lighter than item 15437, credited to the larger plastic sections and reduced metal content.
