20T motor pinion overview

This 20T motor gear fits Losi Super Baja models as an aftermarket pinion option. Manufactured in hardened steel #45, the part functions as the motor pinion that meshes with the spur to transfer motor torque reliably into the drivetrain.

It replaces the typical 19T stock pinion on Super Baja Rey layouts when the motor mount is set to the 20T hole. During installation confirm motor shaft position and set-screw seating, then adjust the mesh carefully to avoid excessive backlash or binding.

Choose this hardened steel pinion when modifying tooth count to tune gear ratio or when you need improved wear resistance for off-road running. After fitting, inspect spur mesh and ball bearing alignment and rotate the drivetrain by hand to ensure smooth engagement before applying power.
