Center shaft upgrade focused on driveline response

This is an RC-scale aluminum center shaft made for the Lazer ZX7.5 platform, sold as Kyosho part LA406. The shaft is 64.5 in length and machined from 7075 aluminum to offer a stiffer alternative to stock pieces while keeping the original chassis geometry intact.

It functions as the center drivetrain shaft within the vehicle transmission, lining up with the existing bearings and gearbox spacing used on Lazer ZX7.5 models. When swapping the original shaft, check bearing seating and the center-to-center distance to ensure proper gear mesh and minimal axial play.

In tuning terms, the LA406 center shaft changes drivetrain rigidity and can alter how power is transferred through the center differential and linked gears; small material changes often change rotational feel. Follow normal RC maintenance and safe installation practices when fitting this component.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Kyosho items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
Upgrading to a 7075 aluminum shaft typically reduces flex in the drivetrain, which can make power delivery feel more consistent and improve throttle response, especially under load.
The LA406 is designed to match the Lazer ZX7.5 bearing layout; still, verify bearing inner diameters and seating before final assembly to prevent tight spots or excess play.
After install, check gear lash and shaft runout, then run the drivetrain at low speed to confirm smooth mesh. Recheck after the first few runs and adjust shims if needed.
