This high shim is a purpose-made spacer for Kyosho Mini-Z AWD platforms, sold as model AWD-13. It adjusts the vertical position between AWD drivetrain parts and the chassis to help correct slight misalignment and limit gear or driveshaft binding during close-tolerance setups.
Fitting is simple: position the shim where the drivetrain stack, differential housing, or gearbox meets the chassis mounting points to increase clearance. Loosen mounting hardware, seat the shim on the mating surfaces, check alignment, then tighten fasteners to the recommended torque and verify smooth rotation of the driveline.
Tuning use: employ the high shim to remedy small alignment issues, prevent unwanted contact, and experiment with driveline geometry. Small changes in thickness can affect traction feedback and drivetrain smoothness on tight, high-grip surfaces.
