This aluminum main shaft is a drivetrain replacement for Kyosho Mini-Z AWD cars, sold under model AWD-01. It functions as the rotating link between the motor output and the differential on MR-03 AWD-style chassis, and is intended to be used with the car's existing bearings and drivetrain components.
Before fitting the shaft, confirm fitment with Mini-Z MR-03 AWD layouts and check bearing fit and axial runout. Typical installation steps include removing the old shaft, cleaning mating bearings and housings, applying a light PTFE-compatible lubricant at bearing interfaces, and confirming free rotation without binding. Do not force parts; if play or interference remains, inspect spur and pinion alignment and related transmission parts.
From a tuning perspective, an aluminum shaft raises torsional stiffness compared with many stock polymer shafts, which can reduce drivetrain flex under acceleration but may transfer load to adjacent components. After installation, monitor bearing wear and other transmission items. Use this part as a maintenance replacement or simple upgrade to improve drivetrain feel on indoor circuits and club events.
