MR-02 compact motor support

This aluminium motor mount fitted with an SSG graphite plate is a compact upgrade aimed at Mini-Z owners using MR-02 chassis patterns. The machined aluminium base and slim graphite plate provide a low stack height solution that secures the motor assembly while keeping overall weight down for tight indoor tracks.

Function and compatibility: the unit replaces the stock motor interface for MR-02 RM patterns and references the MR-015 mounting layout, offering a stiffer mount to help retain gear mesh and motor alignment through close corners and sudden acceleration. It is intended as a tuning and durability part rather than a motor power upgrade.

Fitting advice: remove the original motor mount and transfer any reusable screws and bearings to the new mount, making sure the SSG graphite plate lines up so motor clearance and pinion engagement remain consistent. Check gear mesh after installation and rotate the drivetrain by hand to ensure there is no binding. Use the original hex screws and an appropriate hex driver for final tightening; take care not to over-torque graphite contact areas.

Tuning tips and upkeep: this mount is useful when altering motor position for different pinions or when experimenting with chassis flex and weight balance. Inspect the graphite plate edges for wear and the mounting faces for any burrs, and re-check motor screw tightness after a few run sessions.

It is made for Kyosho Mini-Z MR-02 RM mounting patterns and references the MR-015 motor mount dimensions for fitment.
Most users reuse the stock hex screws and compatible spacers; no extra hardware is normally supplied with the mount.
Fit the motor, set pinion mesh using a strip or finger-rotation method, then tighten screws and manually rotate the drivetrain to verify smooth free movement.
