This alloy pinion set is made for Kyosho Mini-Z AWD drivetrains and supplied as a single pack covering common pinion sizes used in Mini-Z AWD motor assemblies. Four tooth-count choices are included: 15T, 17T, 19T and 21T, letting you change final drive ratios without altering the motor or spur gear.
Material and purpose: the pinions are machined from an aluminium alloy to give improved wear resistance over some stamped steel pinions while keeping rotating mass low for small scale running. Their main use is as replacement pinions or as quick gearing options for handling and acceleration tuning.
Fitting notes: extract the motor from its mount, slacken the existing pinion on the motor shaft, install the selected tooth-count pinion making sure the mesh with the spur is correct, fasten with the supplied screws and confirm endplay and mesh under slow rotation. Use small hex drivers and modest torque to avoid stripping motor shaft threads, and verify smooth engagement before running.
Tuning advice: smaller tooth counts such as 15T tend to raise top speed but reduce acceleration, while larger counts like 21T improve low-end punch and acceleration at the cost of peak velocity; select the gear based on circuit layout and your motor/ESC setup.
