FW05RR top shock tower

This front shock tower mount is an aftermarket hop-up for the Kyosho FW05RR chassis, moulded in SSG graphite to give a firmer mounting point for the front shocks. The design aims to cut unwanted flex at the top of the shock assembly while keeping weight appropriate for 1/10 on-road competition and club track use.

Fitment changes the shock top rigidity and subtly alters pickup geometry, which can sharpen steering feedback and improve repeatability lap after lap. This component is a direct-replacement style unit that prioritises consistent fit and baseline performance rather than adding extra adjustment positions.

Installation uses standard RC maintenance tools and basic fastener removal. During fit-up check tower alignment and shock shaft clearance, and verify spacing with your chosen springs and pistons before final tightening. This part is intended for model-scale suspension tuning only.

Specifications

  • Item: Front shock tower mount
  • Material: SSG Graphite
  • Model Number: FW05-RR005A
  • Compatibility: Kyosho FW05RR

Compatibility: Kyosho FW05RR chassis.

Choose this mount when you want a firmer shock top for more predictable front-end behaviour during setup and tuning sessions.

It is made as a direct fit for Kyosho FW05RR layouts; verify screw alignment and reuse the stock hardware where indicated for correct installation.
Hex drivers, small spanners and a precision screwdriver are all you need; no specialised tools are required.
SSG graphite stiffens the shock top, reducing flex and often producing crisper steering and steadier shock action under lateral load.
After installation, confirm shock spacing and rebound travel, and inspect mounting holes and bolts for even torque to avoid concentrated stress on the graphite.
