The Bell AB 212/UH-1N began life with Bell Helicopter in the late 1960s and later entered licensed production by Agusta Westland as the AB-212. That Italian-built variant gained an extended fuselage and twin Pratt & Whitney PT6T turbines, giving the type greater power and flexibility in service roles.
During the early 2000s many AB 212 airframes received mission upgrades including swivelling machine guns, enhanced defensive suites with antimissile flare dispensers, and added armour to protect crews. These changes were evident in deployments such as ISAF operations in Afghanistan after 2006.
This Italeri kit captures those technical and historical details at 1/48 scale, delivering parts and moulded detail suited for display or museum-style dioramas. Builders will value the cockpit detail and rotor components for realistic finishes.
