Fine Tuning Clutch Springs with HUDY

The HUDY 182005 Clutch Spring Tool is a purpose-built workshop aid for modelers running 1/8 and 1/10 nitro engines. It streamlines fitting and setting the clutch spring preload collar so tuners can get repeatable results during setup and track maintenance.

Fast Mounting and Simple Preload Setup

Made for straightforward operation, this tool helps you fit or remove the clutch spring preload collar quickly. To fit, place the preload adjusting collar into the tool, press it onto the spring, then thread it onto the clutch nut. For preload changes, position the tool over the collar and rotate to the desired setting.

Lightweight 7075 T6 Construction

Manufactured from CNC machined Swiss 7075 T6 aluminum, the tool balances low weight with high strength. The HUDY diamond pattern on the surface improves grip when handling. As part of the "25 years anniversary" line, it pairs practical function with a clean, workshop-friendly look.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some HUDY items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 8-12 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
It is optimised for centrifugal-axial styles found on 1/8 and 1/10 nitro cars, but many similar clutch collars used on other setups will also fit if dimensions match.
Wipe it clean after use and avoid harsh chemicals. A light oil on moving parts or contact surfaces will help prevent corrosion and keep the diamond pattern grip effective.
Yes, the tool is compact enough for pit work and allows quick preload tweaks between runs as long as you have simple hand tools to access the clutch nut.
