Aluminium sanding drum for tyre truing

The HUDY 102580 aluminium sanding drum is built as an accessory for RC-scale tyre truing and profile shaping. Its P120 abrasive on an aluminium core provides a medium grain that removes rubber predictably, letting you refine tread form without aggressive cutting.

Intended for use with a tyre truer or a sanding drum holder, the drum fits onto compatible mandrels and is designed to operate as part of a truing setup. Mounting and securing depend on the host tool, so follow your truer or holder instructions for correct installation.

From a setup perspective, this sanding drum is a profiling aid: use it to even out tread, take down moulding high spots, and smooth transitions when changing contact patch or tyre shape. The medium P120 grit balances material removal and surface finish for consistent tyre behavior after profiling.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some HUDY items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 8-12 weeks. Start with light passes and check progress often. Use the HUDY 102580 to remove small amounts of rubber until the tread and profile are even; avoid heavy cuts to prevent overheating the tyre.
The drum slides onto the compatible mandrel of your tyre truer or drum holder. Secure it according to the host tool's instructions to ensure concentric mounting and safe operation.
P120 is a medium grit designed for shaping and smoothing. For a finer finish after profiling, follow up with a higher grit abrasive to achieve the final surface quality you want.
The drum is specified for RC tyre surfaces. If you intend to work on foam inserts, try it first on spare material to check how the abrasive and grit affect that insert before using it on race tyres.
Keep the abrasive free of debris, avoid heavy pressure that generates heat, and store the drum dry to protect the aluminium core and maintain abrasive life.
Confirm the physical fit with your tyre truer or drum holder and make sure a medium P120 grit matches your planned profiling and finishing strategy.
