Long HSS shock spring for RC suspension tuning

The Yokomo YOKYS1380 HSS long shock spring in green is an RC-scale replacement spring made for general shock absorber assemblies. It is supplied as a single aftermarket spring intended to alter suspension feel and ride height when swapped into compatible shock bodies.

Fit this longer-profile spring to adjust preload and influence the balance between compression and rebound without immediately changing damper oil or piston selection. Its extended length suits setups needing extra travel or a higher static stance compared with shorter springs of similar rate.

Installation follows standard coil-spring practice: remove the shock top cap and spring retainer, slide the spring over the shaft onto the shock body, then set preload and reassemble the top cap. After fitting, confirm full travel is free of binding and check clearance to nearby chassis parts.

When tuning with this spring, make conservative damper changes and small preload steps so handling changes are predictable. Use it as part of an iterative setup workflow focused on balance and consistency.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
The product is supplied as one individual replacement spring, not as a matched multi-piece set.
Yes. Start with your existing pistons and oil; only change them if you need further damping adjustments after testing.
A longer spring can raise static ride height depending on preload. Adjust preload carefully and recheck suspension geometry.
