Front and rear gearbox reinforcement for HPI Savage

This alloy front and rear gear box brace is a scale RC accessory made for the HPI Savage series, created to strengthen the gearbox areas of the chassis. Machined from aluminium alloy with a purple finish, it mounts to the Savage front and rear gearbox points to deliver a firmer platform for drivetrain pieces.

In everyday use the brace reduces gearbox flex under load and helps maintain predictable alignment while you tweak suspension or drivetrain settings. It replaces or upgrades stock braces on compatible Savage models and is aimed at improving chassis rigidity for off-road setup work.

Fitting the part requires access to the Savage front and rear gearbox locations and common hobby tools to remove the original brace and fit the replacement. Always confirm mounting alignment against your specific Savage variant before starting installation.

Remove the existing front and rear gearbox fixings using standard hex drivers, support the gearbox while extracting hardware, then align the new brace to the same mounting points and refit using the original screws. Follow stepwise disassembly to avoid losing spacers or shims.
No specialist tools are needed beyond common hobby tools such as hex drivers and pliers. A steady bench and thread locker for metal screws are recommended for secure fitting.
Check gearbox bearings and driveshaft alignment while the chassis is open. Replacing worn fasteners or adding shims for alignment is a good practice when upgrading the brace to ensure optimal drivetrain geometry.
The brace mounts to existing gearbox points and should not significantly change ride height, but verify clearance after fitting and before running to avoid contact with suspension components.
