Scale fin heatsink for Savage engines

This fin-style engine heatsink is a scale RC accessory made to fit HPI Savage 21, Savage 25 and Savage X 13 engine heads. It provides passive cooling by increasing the exposed surface area around the glow head to help dissipate heat during operation. This component is intended for model use only and not for any real vehicle applications.

Fitting is straightforward for hobbyists familiar with nitro setups: remove the existing cooling head or glow head, confirm thread type and clearance, then slide the heatsink over the engine head while ensuring there is no interference with the carburettor, exhaust or nearby chassis parts. Rotate the engine by hand to confirm clearance before the first run and recheck after the initial heat cycle.

From a tune perspective the heatsink reduces peak temperatures by enlarging surface area and aiding convective cooling. It performs best where airflow is present or can be directed by the body or chassis layout. Include this part as one element of a cooling check that also covers fuel mixture, exhaust condition and airflow routing.

Compatible Models

  • HPI Savage 21
  • Savage 25
  • Savage X 13

A practical fin heatsink for Savage-series nitro heads that should be checked for fit and rotating clearance during installation and used alongside routine engine maintenance.

It is specified for the HPI Savage 21, Savage 25 and Savage X 13 heads; always verify thread pitch and head profile before final installation.
No mandatory adjustment is required, but monitor peak temperature on a short test run and adjust high or low needles only if the engine consistently runs colder or hotter than expected.
With the heatsink fitted, turn the engine over by hand and inspect around the carburettor, manifold and chassis mounts for any contact or rubbing points.
It is designed for the manufacturer heads listed; fitment on aftermarket or different-profile heads must be confirmed prior to use.
