This is an RC replacement main spur gear for the HPI Savage 21 platform, sized 49T and moulded in Delrin. It fits as the primary spur in the Savage 21 drivetrain and is intended for direct swap into compatible gearboxes.

The component sets the mesh with your pinion, determines final drive engagement and influences how smoothly the drive runs under load. Delrin offers predictability in friction and tighter dimensional tolerance versus generic nylon spurs, helping reduce binding and uneven wear.

Fitting follows the standard Savage 21 spur swap procedure: remove the gearbox cover, expose the spur and pinion contact area, confirm bearing alignment and shaft seating, place the gear on the shaft and set backlash to a correct mesh before reassembly. Inspect the pinion and bearings for play to avoid premature wear.
