This 1/350 scale static model by Hobby Boss reproduces the PLA Navy Type 033 Romeo Class submarine and is intended for display builders and collectors seeking fine external detail.

The Type 033 evolved from Soviet Romeo-class designs supplied under mid-20th century Sino-Soviet technical aid. Chinese yards used the transferred documentation to produce a locally built Type 033 beginning in the 1960s. Around 84 hulls were completed between the 1960s and 1980s, serving coastal patrol and regional deterrence duties and later being exported to other navies.
