Pendulum-style knuckle weights for rock crawling

This pendulum wheel knuckle axle weight is the GPM023X brass accessory designed to lower unsprung mass and improve tyre contact when crawling over steep or uneven terrain. The pendulum profile hangs the mass downward, using a central bearing and a Delrin collar so the tyre more easily bites the surface rather than slipping or digging in.

The kit ships with a range of adapters, pins, shims, washers and bearings so you can fit it across multiple crawler platforms. Fit these where extra downward force on the wheel is needed to keep contact on low-angle obstacles and to reduce recovery snags when a tyre stalls in soft ground.

Key technical and fit notes taken from the manufacturer:

• The single pendulum weight is specified as 128 gram, not including the bearings and collars.
• Two hex widener sizes are provided: 31mm hex wideners intended for Traxxas TRX-4, and 21mm hex wideners for Axial SCX-10 I/II, GMADE Sawback family and HPI Venture 1165642.
• Wheels must have an inner diameter of 45mm and a wheel shaft hole of 5mm to be compatible with this kit.
• Installation location is on the outer case of the front and rear knuckle arms where this aftermarket part mounts to add mass not present on the original chassis.
• For TRX-4 use, insert the white Delrin collars on the rear side of the pendulum where there is a groove and secure the hex adapter with the supplied screw pin.
• For Axial SCX-10 I/II, GMADE Sawback/Sawback 4LS/Komodo and HPI Venture 1165642, press bearings on both sides of the pendulum and install the hex adapter directly onto the supplied steel pin.

Use this brass pendulum weight where added low-mounted mass improves wheel bite and helps keep crawlers moving smoothly through deep ruts or over steep rock faces; check wheel inner diameter and shaft hole before fitting and follow platform-specific pin and collar orientation during assembly.
