This aluminium front shock tower is an aftermarket upgrade for the Tamiya GF-01 chassis, supplied as model GF028. It replaces the factory plastic tower to give a firmer mounting point for the front shocks and a more stable top mount compared with stock parts.
The tower's role is to control suspension behaviour and support chassis setup: reducing flex at the top shock mounts changes shock geometry under load and can make front response more consistent when cornering or running over rough terrain. This helps when dialing in spring rates, damping and camber link positions on GF-01 based rigs.
Fitting is straightforward for those familiar with GF-01 maintenance: remove the original tower, transfer any required hardware and top shock components, then secure this tower to the existing mounting points. After installation verify shock travel and alignment, then adjust preload or mount position as needed to reach the handling balance you want.
