The GPM SCX30/0214TS 1144-steel ring and worm gear pair is made for 1/30 scale SCX30 brushed rock crawlers. The 2T/14T high-speed worm profile and hardened finish provide a durable metal alternative to worn factory plastic or softer metal parts. Use this set as service or tuning components for crawler gearboxes and final drives.

Installation and handling tips

• Fitment: Built to align with SCX30 drivetrain geometry; confirm axle and gearbox alignment before final tightening.
• Gear mesh: Adjust backlash with shims or adjustable mounts to obtain smooth engagement; too much preload can stress bearings and the motor pinion.
• Lubrication: Apply a light metal-gear grease to mating teeth to lower initial wear and keep debris clearance; check again after the first run.
• Break-in: Operate at low speed under a light load for several minutes to allow the teeth to seat properly.
• Inspection: After trail use, inspect teeth for burrs or misalignment and remove any trapped debris.
