25mm aluminium wheel hex adapters for wider track

This RC-scale pair of wheel hex adapters adds 25mm of overall track width to Axial SCX10 II rigs while keeping the installation compact. Each adapter is intended for wheels with a 5mm hub hole and designed to mate with a 4mm threaded wheel shaft so compatible wheels can be reused.

Retention is provided by a combination of sealing and spring hardware: an O-ring on one face, and on the opposite face a spring steel retaining ring, a compression spring with washers, and a stainless steel screw that clamps the assembly. A Delrin locating collar sits inside the hex to centre the wheel and resist relative rotation under crawling torque and slow-speed traction loads.

As a simple track-widening accessory the adapters change wheel stance to give extra lateral stability on technical trails and rock sections. Before fitting, double-check axle thread and wheel hub dimensions, confirm the spring, washers and retaining screw are installed correctly, and ensure the Delrin collar centers the wheel to prevent imbalance.

What hub and shaft sizes are required for these adapters?

These adapters are for wheels with a 5mm centre hole and for 4mm threaded wheel shafts. Always measure your wheel hub and axle thread before installing.

How does the assembly stop the wheel from spinning on the adapter?

The Delrin locating collar aligns the wheel while the O-ring, spring steel ring, spring and washers, and the stainless screw clamp the setup to reduce relative rotation under crawling loads.

Will adding these adapters affect balance or cause vibration?

Widening the track can alter wheel offset; check that the wheel is concentric on the Delrin collar and balance wheels if you notice vibration at higher speeds.
