Wing Servo Technical Summary

The Futaba S3155 is a digital high-speed slim servo built for wing-mounted control surfaces on small gliders, jets and electric model aircraft where installation depth is limited. Its compact black plastic case combined with FUTM3331 metal gears offers a space-saving fit while delivering the quick response expected from a high-speed servo.

When fitting the S3155, allow for its electrical demand at startup and under load. Use battery packs and wiring that can supply peak current, avoid long lead runs and Y-harnesses when possible, and ensure pushrods and hinge linkages move freely to reduce unnecessary current draw and wear.

  • Compatibility Intended for R/C systems operating at 4.8–6V, not compatible with listed AM transmitters: CONQUEST AM, FG Series (T4FG, T5FGK, T6FG, T6FGK, T7FGK), New Terratop, T3EGX, T3PGE, T2NL, T2LGX, T2FR, T2PK series

For wing installations prioritise a clean mechanical layout and a power system capable of sustained high-current delivery; shorten leads and avoid Y-harnesses where practical, and use the included horn selection to set control throw and centring during final setup.

The S3155 is specified for operation at 4.8V and 6.0V; those voltages are used for the listed speed and torque figures. Use packs and regulators rated for that range and able to supply required peak current.
Keep servo lead lengths short, use heavier gauge wire where possible, and avoid parallel Y-harnesses for primary servos. Consider dedicated power leads or local BECs to prevent voltage sag under load.
The package ships with the S3155 pre-fitted with a 1" 4-arm horn, plus additional 4-arm, straight and round horns, eyelets, rubber grommets, self-threading screws and a one year warranty.
The servo is rated as dust and water resistant but is not fully waterproof. Avoid prolonged immersion and heavy spray; for exposed installations use additional sealing or a fully waterproof unit.
The S3155 uses a neutral pulse of 1310 microseconds and is not compatible with certain older AM transmitters listed in the specifications. Confirm your transmitter supports the servo before installation.
