Fujimi SWM-16 1/700 scale IJN carrier Soryu — 1938 and 1941 options

The kit is a 1/700 scale plastic model representing the Imperial Japanese Navy aircraft carrier Soryu, issued in Fujimi's Sea Way Model lineup under the SWM-16 designation.

The historical Soryu entered service in the late 1930s and served as a fleet carrier during early Pacific operations. Commissioned prior to World War II, she saw major fleet actions and was refitted in the late 1930s and early 1940s to alter flight deck and aircraft arrangements. The ship was lost at the Battle of Midway in 1942.
