Self-tapping hex screws for model chassis

This RC-scale hex socket tapping screw is sized M 3.5x10 and is intended for general replacement and upkeep of model parts where a self-tapping fastener is needed. Use it when original screws are stripped or lost, or when you need better thread engagement in plastic panels and thin alloy pieces common in model constructions.

Installation is simple: align the parts, use the correct hex driver, and tighten carefully to avoid over-stressing softer materials. As these are self-tapping screws, they form mating threads as they are driven into compatible plastics, so pre-drilling is often unnecessary for typical RC plastic components but may be advised for much harder substrates.

For maintenance and setup work these screws are practical: they secure chassis plates, electronics brackets, servo mounts, and body posts where a compact hex-drive fastening is preferred. Treat them as an accessory and set torque to strike a balance between firm hold and the longevity of the parts.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
Choose a hex driver that fits the screw socket snugly to reduce slipping. A precise fit reduces cam-out and protects the screw head during tightening.
They are designed for plastics and thin alloys; for thick or hardened metal use a proper machine screw with a tapped hole instead.
Tighten in stages, stop when resistance rises, and back off if the material deforms. Using a correctly sized driver and controlled torque prevents stripping.
