The Yokomo SD-414TA is an RC-scale aluminum light weight kingpin designed to replace the stepped screw that secures the front knuckle. It reduces unsprung mass at the steering knuckle connection while keeping the standard attachment interface, making it a straightforward swap for drivers tuning steering responsiveness in drift package builds.
Installation is direct: remove the original stepped screw and flange, fit the hard-coated flange supplied with this part, and secure the knuckle with the included titanium button-head screws. The kit maintains the original knuckle geometry so roll center and ackermann are unchanged, letting you tune steering feel via other suspension adjustments rather than modifying link geometry.
In tuning terms this kingpin is most useful when you want a marginal reduction in rotational inertia at the steering axis to help the front end follow steering inputs more quickly during transitions. It complements changes like caster, toe, and shock tune rather than replacing them; expect subtle improvements rather than dramatic handling change.
