Stiff aluminum motor mounting for drift use

This Yokomo YOKD030 aluminum motor mount is an RC-scale replacement part made for drift package applications. It creates a fixed attachment point for the motor, delivering a rigid connection between motor and chassis to help preserve alignment under load and while tuning.

Machined from aluminum alloy, the mount improves heat transfer and dimensional stability versus many stamped or plastic alternatives. In a drift setup its main function is mechanical stability and consistent motor positioning to maintain gear mesh and driveline alignment as setups are altered.

Installation notes: verify the screw pattern and motor tab alignment with your current motor and gearbox before tightening, recheck gear mesh after final torque, and confirm the motor centerline relative to spur and pinion. Apply suitable threadlocker and follow torque values compatible with your chassis hardware.

Specifications

This mount is a simple aluminum upgrade for drift package builds where reliable motor placement and repeatable chassis tuning are priorities, ideal for users who routinely adjust gear mesh and motor alignment.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
Measure your motor's mounting hole pattern and compare it to the mount before fitting. Ensure tabs and screw spacing line up with your gearbox and motor before final assembly.
Yes. Tighten the mount to correct torque then confirm spur and pinion mesh, since motor position changes can alter the mesh setting.
Use the screws specified by your chassis or motor kit and a medium-strength threadlocker where fasteners are subject to vibration. Match screw length to avoid interference with internals.
The aluminum construction increases stiffness versus plastic mounts, reducing motor shift and helping keep set gear mesh under load typical of drift driving.
After initial runs, recheck mounting screw torque, inspect for any play at the motor interface, and confirm gear mesh remains within your preferred clearance.
While optimized for the DP drift package, the mount can be used in other builds provided the screw pattern and chassis layout are compatible.
