BD9 Front Shock Tower Overview

This graphite front shock tower is built for BD9-series RC touring cars to alter suspension kinematics by moving the shock pivot 1mm upward. The slight pivot rise frees extra upper stroke for the shock, reducing the chance of damper bottoming during heavy body roll or when a wheel drops suddenly on corner exit.

The part is aimed at tuners: the higher pivot shifts leverage a touch, creating more compliance at full compression and a steadier feel through fast corners. Fit this tower to reduce harsh bottom-outs without swapping springs or revising damping, particularly on tracks with abrupt compression events.

Installation is simple for anyone familiar with BD9 chassis maintenance. Remove the stock front shock tower with your standard hex driver and reuse the existing hardware; after fitting, check shock shaft freeplay and revisit ride height and droop as part of tuning checks.

Compatible Models

  • MRTC-BD919
  • MRTC-BD919S
Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
Raising the pivot by 1mm increases available upper shock travel, which softens the end-of-travel reaction and reduces abrupt bottoming when the car unloads on corner exit.
The tower is designed for BD9 platforms. Confirm fit against the listed compatible models to ensure proper mounting and clearance before buying.
Not always. Start by checking droop and ride height after installation; adjust damping or spring rate only if the handling balance requires further tuning.
