Service pins and C-clips for W/J universals

This is an RC-scale replacement set of pins and C-clips intended for C-clip type double-joint universal (W/J) assemblies used in on-road BD7-style drivetrains. The parts act as mechanical fasteners that secure the double-joint universal while permitting rotation and preventing axial movement, making them small but essential items for routine service and repair.

Compatibility is limited to the listed chassis variants; fit these parts only where a C-clip style joint is specified. When removing or installing the C-clip and pin, use suitable fine pliers and avoid deforming the clip or bending the pin, since damage can introduce driveline play.

Inspect these fasteners whenever you investigate vibration, binding, or endplay at the universal joint. Replacing worn pins or weakened C-clips preserves drivetrain alignment and consistent wheel response.

Compatibility

  • MRTC-BD715O
  • MRTC-BD715S
  • MRTC-BD715B
Remark :

Position the pin through the joint bore, then seat the C-clip into its groove using small pliers. Work slowly to avoid marring the clip or bending the pin and confirm the clip sits fully in the groove before reassembling the drivetrain.
If both the pin and clip retain their original shape and show no signs of wear or distortion, they can be reused. Replace any clip that has spread or any pin that is bent to avoid introducing slop.
Yes. Fresh, correctly fitted pins and fully seated C-clips reduce endplay and minimize slop at the universal joint, which helps maintain drivetrain alignment and predictable handling.
