This RC shock shaft is intended as a direct replacement for BD7-2014 SLF normal shocks, used when rebuilding or servicing touring car dampers. Its role is simple and mechanical: to act as a straight, wear-resistant guide for the piston assembly inside SLF normal shocks.
Follow standard damper service procedure: drain the shock, remove the cap and spring, extract the internal assembly, and swap the old shaft for the YOKB7-S5N. During reassembly check seal seating and retainers to prevent leaks and secure consistent damping. Do not force components; confirm smooth movement before sealing the shock.
From a setup standpoint the shaft affects friction and runout; a straight, smooth shaft helps preserve predictable damping and repeatable adjustments. Regular inspections for burrs, bends, or corrosion and replacing the shaft as part of maintenance reduces inconsistent damper behavior at the track.
