16T steel pinion for Baja drivetrains

This 16T steel pinion is a direct replacement motor pinion designed for use on Baja 5b/5b Ss/5T platforms. It is supplied as a single steel pinion and is specified to be used with the SBJ058T spur gear to ensure correct tooth engagement and reliable mesh.

In service the pinion transfers motor torque to the spur while resisting wear better than softer materials. Fit the pinion to your motor shaft following the motor manufacturer fastening method, set a proper gear mesh with the matching spur, and lock the pinion so it cannot move under load. Regular checks for backlash and wear will keep drivetrain noise low and extend component life.

This part is sold as one steel pinion intended as a direct replacement where the matching spur gear is used; do not pair with unmatched spur gears to avoid poor meshing or premature wear.

Select this steel 16T pinion when replacing a worn motor pinion on the listed Baja platforms and when using the SBJ058T spur gear to preserve correct drivetrain geometry.

One steel 16T motor pinion, supplied as 1 piece for replacement use.
The pinion is made in steel to improve wear resistance under higher torque; still check motor alignment and mesh for heavy power systems.
Use this pinion with the SBJ058T spur gear as specified to maintain correct tooth contact. Mixing unmatched spur profiles can cause poor mesh and faster wear.
Set a small amount of backlash, ensure axial alignment on the motor shaft, and verify the pinion is fully secured; inspect periodically for worn teeth that increase noise.
