Upgraded front CVD for Yeti XL

This aftermarket front CVD drive shaft is a direct-fit accessory for Axial Racing Yeti XL owners who want a tougher steel option for front drivetrain duty. The 124mm steel #45 shaft includes an 8mm wheel hex and replaces the stock front CVD hardware to improve torsional stiffness and reduce wear during high-load off-road use.

Installation follows standard Yeti XL front shaft procedures: remove the wheel and hub, free the stock shaft by detaching axle components as required, then fit the replacement making sure splines align and fasteners are torqued to factory specs. Apply thread locker only where the factory design indicates and confirm wheel hex engagement before driving.

As a tuning upgrade, the steel shaft raises drivetrain rigidity and helps keep wheel engagement consistent under heavy acceleration and rough terrain. When fitting this part, check suspension and differential settings to avoid moving shock loads onto other drivetrain parts.

Fits perfect good quality!! One thing that I don’t like it’s not fit straight on the kit version only RTR Yeti XL.
It is made as a direct-fit for Axial Racing Yeti XL setups, but you should check spline alignment and wheel hex engagement during a dry-fit to ensure smooth installation.
Standard RC tools and hex drivers used for hub and axle removal on a Yeti XL are sufficient; no specialist tooling is normally needed.
Steel #45 typically increases wear resistance and stiffness compared with many stock alloys, which can extend service life under aggressive off-road driving.
Expect firmer drivetrain engagement at the front; you may need minor suspension or diff tweaks to keep handling balanced.
Periodically inspect splines and wheel hex for wear, keep joints free of packed grit, and replace the shaft if you see deformation or significant wear.
