This machined aluminium front and rear gearbox housing kit is a scale replacement made for Axial RR10 Bomber and Wraith rigs. It swaps the original plastic cases for rigid alloy housings to reduce deformation and extend wear life in gearbox assemblies used on scale trail and crawler setups.
Fitment targets RR10 Bomber and Wraith chassis that use the AX31317 style gearbox arrangement. Verify your chassis has matching gearbox mounting points and the same gear stack orientation before fitting to avoid alignment issues.
Installation notes: remove wheel hubs and driveshafts, open the gearbox cover, then transfer internal gears and bearings into the alloy housings while keeping original orientations. After assembly check bearing seating and gear mesh clearances, adjust shims or washers as needed, and torque fasteners to your chassis hardware specs. Apply thread locker on screws that bite into the alloy where heavy vibration is expected.
Tuning notes: aluminium housings change stiffness and heat transfer compared with plastic, giving reduced flex under load and a more consistent gear mesh. Be mindful of bearing seating and lubrication since the harder housings can transmit more vibration to internal gears.
