Aluminium hex adapters for improved crawl stability

This pair of aluminium wheel hex adapters increases wheel track by 23mm to boost lateral stability when tackling rock sections and tight technical lines. Designed for AXIAL Racing SCX10 II rigs, the adapters take wheels with a 5mm centre hole and clamp to 4mm threaded wheel shafts for secure fitment.

Each hex features an O-ring seating on one face to keep the assembly snug, while the opposite face uses a spring steel ring combined with a spring, washers and a stainless screw to lock the unit in place. A Delrin locating collar sits inside the hex to prevent the wheel and tyre from turning independently under load.

As a tuning step for the SCX10 II, these adapters widen stance without changing axle geometry, giving a straightforward mechanical improvement to roll resistance and tyre contact during slow, high-traction crawling.
