This two-piece alloy front and rear ball differential joint set is made to fit Associated RC18T scale models. Supplied as a pair, each joint accepts its lock nut to secure the ball end into the differential assembly, replacing the original plastic or softer parts with a metal alternative.
As a direct replacement and tuning item, the alloy joints change friction at the differential output which can be used to tune traction and cornering balance on 1/18 on-road cars. These items are intended for RC-scale vehicles only.
Installation is straightforward for experienced hobby mechanics: remove the diff housing cover, extract the existing ball joint, fit the alloy joint in the same location, and tighten the supplied lock nut to the recommended torque. Basic hand tools are sufficient, and a small amount of threadlocker can be applied to the lock nut for longer retention.
Care is typical for metal drivetrain parts: clean after heavy use, inspect the ball seat for wear, and replace if any play develops. Using compatible differential lubricants will help protect mating surfaces and keep handling predictable.
