This gear pack provides alternative spur and pinion groupings for Tamiya M05 M-chassis tuning, adding two quicker overall ratios compared to the stock 37/21. The included 33/21 and 35/21 combinations are aimed at raising top speed, but require deliberate pinion selection and setup tweaks to preserve reliability.

Suggested pinion ranges based on spur tooth count are: for a 37T spur use 16T, 18T and 20T pinions; for a 35T spur use 18T, 20T and 22T pinions; for a 33T spur use 20T, 22T and 24T pinions. These groupings help you pick a pinion that balances top speed and acceleration for your driving style.

Fitting notes: check gear mesh and backlash carefully when using a smaller or larger spur, monitor motor load with your ESC and motor choice, and inspect drivetrain bearings and the differential before running sustained high-speed sessions.

Will changing to 33/21 or 35/21 harm acceleration?

You will generally see reduced low-end acceleration in exchange for higher top speed; choose a pinion from the suggested range to tune the trade off to your preference.

Do I need different motor or ESC settings?
