6mm mass damper ball M4WD-04/LB - light-blue identifier

This 6mm damper ball is intended for use as the movable mass inside Mini 4WD mass-damper cartridges and mounts. It serves as a spare damping element for hobbyists and collectors who replace or refresh small moving parts in standard Mini 4WD assemblies.

The light-blue coloration makes parts sorting easier when you are working on multiple damper cartridges or building a set of tuned masses. Treat the ball as a precision damping element and inspect the surface for flat spots or deformation before reusing in a cartridge.

Fitment notes: this 6mm ball is made to sit in conventional mass-damper housings found on 4WD Mini chassis such as MA, MS, AR and Super-II where a 6mm movable mass is used. Always check the internal diameter and retainers of your damper housing to confirm correct clearance and free movement.

Care and storage: keep spare damper balls clean and stored in a dry container to avoid dust, oils or solvents that could hinder rolling. Replace balls when wear affects smooth motion or when material discoloration suggests aging.

Allow a small running clearance so the ball can move freely inside the cartridge; measure the internal bore and compare to 6mm to ensure no binding occurs when the assembly is compressed.
Yes, colour is for identification only. Mixing balls is fine as long as every element has the same diameter and fits the cartridge without impeding motion.
Avoid oils that can attract dust or create drag. If lubrication is needed, use a dry film or light PTFE product sparingly and test movement before installation.
Inspect damper balls after any heavy impact or every few race sessions; replace when you notice surface flat spots, scoring or loss of free roll.
