Dot 1 Silicone Gear Differential Oil

The Yokomo YOKCSDOT1 is a Dot 1 viscosity silicone differential oil formulated specifically for RC-scale gear differentials. It suits 1/10 scale electric on-road and touring chassis where subtle diff behaviour and improved low-speed traction are desired. This is a model tuning fluid and not intended for full-size automotive or non-RC use.

In practice, Dot 1 lowers internal drag and allows the differential to engage more freely under light torque, aiding corner entry and traction on low-grip surfaces. Choose this viscosity when you need a quicker recovery from steering inputs compared with heavier dot fluids.

Installation is straightforward: drain the existing fluid, clean or flush internals if needed, then refill to the differential's recommended volume and reassemble. Run a brief track session to let the oil settle before making final tuning changes.

Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
Remove the differential cover, drain the old fluid, inspect gears and bearings, clean if necessary, then refill slowly with Dot 1 to the recommended fill level and torque the cover back to spec.

Follow your differential or chassis manual for the specified fill volume. Dot 1 gives freer action, so follow manufacturer fill guidance to preserve desired preload and gear engagement.
