Fitting is straightforward with basic tools; remove the shock cap, swap in the aluminum ball, and reassemble. Check threads and seating for smooth operation before running.
Anodizing adds surface hardness and helps protect against corrosion, but you should rinse off heavy mud and dry parts after wet sessions to prolong life.
They are designed to prevent binding rather than alter damping. You may notice more consistent travel under load, while spring and oil settings remain the main damping factors.
