Performance Upgrade: Yokomo Y4-630A Spur Hub

The Yokomo Y4-630A Aluminum Spur Gear Hub fits the YD-2 and YD-4 chassis and is machined from black anodized aluminum to balance strength with reduced weight. It clamps to the spur gear and main shaft to keep the drivetrain solid under high loads, helping maintain steady power delivery on sprint and carpet layouts.

Benefits of an Aluminum Spur Hub

Aluminum gives a reliable strength-to-weight ratio that reduces rotating mass while resisting deformation. The anodized surface helps resist wear from gear contact and provides consistent seating for the spur gear. Swapping to a metal hub typically improves gear mesh stability and results in crisper acceleration response.

Fitment and Simple Installation

This hub is made specifically for Yokomo YD-2 and YD-4 cars for direct replacement of stock plastic parts. Installation is straightforward and generally requires only basic tools to transfer the spur and secure the hub to the shaft, making it a practical tune for weekend racers and club competitors.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
Most aftermarket spur gears with standard bore dimensions will mount to the Y4-630A, but check bore size and set screws before fitting to avoid misalignment.
The hub uses the same type of grub screws and shaft hardware as common Yokomo setups, so most builders can reuse existing fasteners unless they are worn.
Inspect the set screws and anodized surface for wear after a few runs, recheck gear mesh and torque the clamp screws evenly to prevent loosening under load.
